Customising Process Metrics

At the heart of Process Metrics is the Process Metrics.xml file. This file defines the behaviour of the Simulation and Aggregation algorithms, and gives complete control over the finer points of the data analytics that Triaster provide.

Modifying Process Metrics.xml requires good knowledge of XML and of Visio's Custom Property fields.

Begin by first saving the default process metrics file to disk (see Save Default Process Metrics File) and then load the file in an editor to view its contents.

Process Metrics.xml is purposefully structured the same as Properties.xml. When a Process Metrics file is used, it overrides any conflicting definitions in Properties.xml and takes precedence.

The default Process Metrics.xml file contains embedded Help and comments which are regularly updated. Follow these comments to perform customisation.

Once you have modified the Process Metrics.xml file, to have Process Navigator adopt it as the working Process Metrics definition, select the file in the Process Metrics File field on the Process Metrics tab in the Options dialog box.
